These terms apply when you use the International Scaffolding Institute (ISI) website, apply for membership or accreditation, book training through an authorised ISI centre, or hold an ISI certificate or card. By using our services you accept these terms.
1. Who we are
ISI is an independent body that sets scaffolding competence standards, authorises training centres, and issues and verifies certificates and membership. Contact: [email protected].
2. Using the website
- Use the site lawfully and do not try to disrupt or access it without permission.
- Content on this site is provided for general information. Always follow site-specific rules, method statements and the law where you work.
- We may update the site, our services and these terms. The version published here applies.
3. Training and assessment
- Training is delivered by ISI-authorised centres. Course dates, fees, venues and joining instructions are set by the centre that accepts your booking.
- Candidates must meet the entry requirements of the course and be fit to take part in practical work at height.
- Assessment decisions are made by approved assessors against ISI standards. A certificate is issued only when all assessment requirements are met.
4. Certificates and cards
- Certificates and cards remain the property of ISI and may be suspended or withdrawn if they were obtained improperly, misused, or if the holder no longer meets the standard.
- Holders must not alter, copy or lend a certificate or card. Employers can verify any certificate online using its number.
- See the Certification Policy for validity, renewal and replacement.
5. Membership and centre accreditation
- Members and authorised centres agree to follow ISI standards and the Code of Conduct, and to cooperate with scheduled and unannounced audits.
- The ISI name, logo and certification marks may be used only as permitted in writing by ISI.
- Membership and accreditation are personal to the holder and cannot be transferred.
6. Fees, cancellations and refunds
- Application, accreditation and certification fees are shown before you pay.
- Fees become non-refundable once the technical review or assessment has started.
- Cancellations and refunds for training are handled by the centre that took your booking, under its published terms.
7. Liability
ISI assesses and certifies competence; it does not supervise members, centres or certificate holders on site. Employers and duty holders remain responsible for safe systems of work. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Complaints and governing law
If something goes wrong, use our Complaints and Appeals Policy. These terms are governed by the law stated in your membership or centre agreement.
